FAQ
Common questions before building a local business website.
Everything you need to know before reaching out — pricing, timelines, what's included, and how the process works.
Why isn't a Facebook page enough anymore?
Search behavior has changed in two important ways. Traditional search engines have always preferred crawlable websites — Facebook content often sits behind login walls, and its identical page template gives Google nothing unique to rank. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) raises the stakes further: AI-powered tools like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity now answer local search questions with a summarized result, not just blue links. The businesses that appear in those answers have websites with clear service descriptions, FAQ markup, and structured data. A Facebook page has none of that — no schema, no unique content architecture, nothing an AI tool can confidently cite. On top of that, a Facebook page means the platform controls your layout, visibility, and rules. Algorithm changes, login friction, and platform decisions all affect whether customers can reach your business. A proper website is the owned home base that makes both traditional search and AI-powered discovery work.
How much does a small-business website cost?
Launch Sites start at $300 and Growth Sites start at $500. Final pricing depends on pages, content depth, integrations, photo needs, and add-ons such as Google Business Profile help or editable admin content.
What is included in the Launch Site?
A Launch Site includes one polished scrolling page with core sections, a contact form, FAQ, mobile-first layout, basic metadata, sitemap, robots.txt, Cloudflare Pages setup, handoff notes, and up to 5 client-provided photos.
How long does the first version usually take?
A Launch Site is typically 1-2 weeks after scope, deposit, domain direction, and needed content are ready. A Growth Site is typically 2-3 weeks, and custom builds get a timeline with the quote.
What if I do not have a domain yet?
That is completely fine. DaveTheWeb.guru can help choose a domain and walk through the purchase so the domain is owned by the business from the beginning.
Can you help with Google Business Profile?
Yes. DaveTheWeb.guru can help align website content with Google Business Profile basics such as services, hours, service area, FAQs, and photo direction. This does not include ranking guarantees.
Who owns the domain and Cloudflare account?
The preferred model is client-owned domain and Cloudflare account. Dave receives temporary access for setup and support, then access is reduced or removed after handoff unless ongoing support is active.
Can clients edit their own site?
Standard static sites are edited through DaveTheWeb.guru or support blocks. Admin Lite can let a client update a few approved text fields, such as hours or a short announcement. Full admin editing, image uploads, and more custom controls are scoped separately.
Do you offer monthly maintenance?
No monthly service contract is required by default, and default Cloudflare Pages hosting is usually free. Post-launch work is usually handled through prepaid support-hour blocks or separate quotes.

What makes DaveTheWeb.guru different from a web design agency?
Every project gets direct attention from David Fauci — not a ticket queue or account manager. Pricing is published up front. The client owns the domain and Cloudflare account from the beginning. There is no platform lock-in, no required monthly fee, and no bloated launch stack. The goal is a clean, fast site the business actually owns.
